Each of the Walks is dedicated to an Honouree – a person who has been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

This Investors Group Walk for Memories was dedicated to Ron Jarvis.

The untimely onset of dementia at age 52 hasn’t
diminished Ron Jarvis’ joie de vivre. Prior to his illness, Ron was a caring physician who took time with his patients, delivered many babies and worked countless overnight shifts at Cowichan District Hospital’s ER.

These days, Ron pursues his other passion – music – working with the Duncan Choral Society and Consort Choir, and the music team at St. Anglican’s Church. He also spends time with his family, and runs, swims, cycles and skis whenever he can.

This is your opportunity to show Ron you care.

“Ron is the same quiet, gentle, caring person that he always was. Serving as honouree for this year’s
Investors Group Walk for Memories is a perfect fit given his active lifestyle,” said his wife Anne. “He enjoys connecting with people and finds it helpful to hear their stories, not unlike when he was a doctor.”
